L’Aminta is a work of Torquato Tasso composed in spring 1573 and represented in July by the theater company of Jealous on ’ islet of Belvedere on the river Po (now disappeared) in front of the Este Court. L’Aminta ’ is a work of a happy time, a short and happy moment ideational, of life (usually full of restlessness and insecurity) of rate.
L’Aminta è una favola pastorale consisting of a prologue and five acts in hendecasyllables and seven variously rhymed. Each Act is closed by a choir, I ’ it with variable structure.
The pastoral fable was a genre particularly enjoyed by the Court of Ferrara, in fact, Badger, threw himself very well and with authority in that category. On the one hand welcomed the elements of freedom and experimentation typical of the genre, but from ’ else attempted to elevate the literary level of tragedy favola pastorale.
The style used in the ’ work is simple, medium style, a cross between the style of tragedy and popular style, low. In terms of content sought to bring them to the highest level, essentially philosophical arguments. The main philosophical nuclei that we find in this ’ work are two: the problem of free will of man ’, tested by ’ love and relationship between nature and civilization.
The first theme can be seen in the development of the plot: Aminta loves Silvia, who doesn't love him. The loving will of amyntas collides with that of Silvia, their agency must contend with laws of love ’.
The second theme, the relationship between love (nature) and honor(civilization) is addressed in the chorus between the first and second act. Rate set an antithesis between love and honor, between innocence and corruption, between nature and civilization and between freedom and law.
L ’ opera has a happy ending very particular, it comes only after the two protagonists have given each to something that belonged to their original liberty. Love and honor, nature and civilization,.. Don't show up then as opposing elements but as elements of a dialectical relationship (they need to be able to ’ other ’ one dell l form a progress).
L ’ the work of current Rate still occurs because the theme of the relationship between civil and religious power, and personal freedom.
